About Our Awesome Staff

Owner & Aerial Intructor

Kelsey founded The Lofty Life Aerial Dance in 2020. As a certified instructor and performer, she is a firm believer in the power of movement. For Kelsey, dance fosters elegance, strength, and resilience. Her dream is to cultivate an aerial dance community focused on empowerment and inclusivity.

“I find solace in movement. Nothing sheds my stress and anxiety like dance. It is an honor to teach aerial silks to my beautiful students. Watching them grow in strength and confidence is nothing short of empowering. I have the best job in the world!”

Lauren Hudson

Lauren took her first aerial silks class with Kelsey in 2018 and has been hooked ever since! She has always been passionate about movement and fitness, and has found aerial arts to be a fun way to blend creativity, strength, and flexibility. Growing up, Lauren was involved in gymnastics and dance. In college, she began regularly practicing yoga and became a certified yoga teacher in 2020. In 2021, she completed the aerial silks instructor course through Circus Arts Institute.

Katie Campbell

My name is Katie Campbell. I have been taking aerial classes with Kelsey since the summer of 2019.

Why Silks?

I love silks from my insides out. I find it very freeing and meditative. Best of all, it's FUN!

What drew me to Silks?

I was drawn to silks because of its beauty, community, strength and empowerment. Watching the fun and excitement and being encouraged by both friends and Kelsey to try it out.

Who keeps me at Silks?

Kelsey keeps me coming back. She has so much positive energy and love for both the art of aerial silks and her students. She is encouraging on and off the fabric. She pushes and challenges, yet keeps routines and tricks within the limits of each individual, as she personalizes their plan and goals. She is more than an instructor and co-worker; she has become a very dear friend.

The community also keeps me going. Our students, co-workers and fellow aerialists make each visit more and more worth it. Everyone encourages one another. We understand that comparison is unnecessary due to our personalized plans for achievement on the fabric. We support and care for each other. We celebrate each other's successes.

How has my life changed because of Silks?

My life has been changed by silks in a huge way! I have never been as physically fit as I am right now. I have so much more energy and enthusiasm. It helps me encourage myself, set goals and learn how to handle failure and success. I feel empowered and strong.

I Teach Silks because....

I remember what it was like to get started on the fabric. I enjoy helping others find their strength and power. My mission within Kelsey's studio is to help all students of all age ranges and ability levels find success and find their best self on a silk. I LOVE cheering on students who accomplish something they never thought they could.
